Together with our incredible donors, volunteers, corporate partners, and community leaders, we’re improving basic needs and education outcomes for Utah kids and families.
From Cradle to Career
United Way of Salt Lake supports a cradle-to-career approach to improving education outcomes for youth. The reason for this is simple: children benefit from a concrete path to success. They need a continuum of uninterrupted opportunities and supports; each stage provides a foundation for those that follow. We track the well-being of children over time using the indicators on this roadmap and share accountability for getting better results in each area.
Founded in 2014 by United Way of Salt Lake and its essential partners, Promise Partnership Utah is a community-led initiative that works to offer every young person in Utah the opportunity to achieve economic mobility. Promise initiatives are powered by United Way of Salt Lake and its supporters.
211 Utah’s services connect people to the help they need to meet their basic needs and provide a foundation that ensures kids and families have the resources and opportunities they need to thrive from cradle to career.
Year of Action Impact
Our signature Year of Action events help ensure schools have the necessary resources to provide a safe, positive learning environment. Here’s a snapshot of last year’s impact:
books distributed to students during Read Across America Day
backpacks filled with school supplies for local students during Stuff the Bus
service hours completed by corporate and community volunteers across 40 service projects during Day of Caring
weekend meal kits, 250 hygiene kits, 100 snack kits, and 50 Thanksgiving baskets provided for students and families during Season of Service
